John joined Crowley Cottrell in the winter of 2023. He believes the landscape provides a unique opportunity to blend aesthetic beauty and sustainability, while facilitating societal and individual health benefits. Throughout his undergraduate studies, John investigated how landscape architecture projects could catalyze sustainable lifestyle improvements for  historically underserved communities.

 

While growing up on a pecan orchard in the midlands of South Carolina, John became fascinated with the distinct beauty and playfulness of the landscape. His appreciation for outdoor spaces continued to develop throughout his childhood journeyings through the mountains and beaches of the Southeastern United States. John graduated from Clemson University in December of 2023 with an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture. During his studies, he received the South Carolina ASLA award, Don Collins Founders Award, and was a member of the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society. He minored in Sustainability, which allowed him to investigate how nature-based solutions can combat and reduce the consequences of climate change. John aims to provide everyone with the opportunity to explore the vast benefits of beautiful and effective landscapes.
