Mark Warfel joined our team in 2021, bringing more than 12 years of design and construction experience and an approach to design that leads to unique and engaging solutions. He embraces the idea of interconnectedness when working on projects, viewing a site as more than the sum of its parts.

 

"I have always been fascinated by what makes a place unique, what defines its sense of place. When I discovered how Landscape Architecture combines placemaking with environmental stewardship | jumped aboard and never looked back."

Mark holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from

SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. His senior thesis explored how urban food markets are used as a design tool in Barcelona, Spain by analyzing 40 municipal markets and their surrounding communities.

​

This project, along with a thematic studio focused on the landscape of food, has helped feed Mark's interest in defining the role landscape architecture plays in the food system.
