Ken Kelly Park BSLA Award

We recently had the honor of announcing that Ken Kelly Park has been chosen as one of this year's BSLA Award winners! So much thought and intention went into the design of this high-performance pocket park, resulting in a space that functions as an intimate neighborhood backyard and community resource while providing a wealth of environmental services within its dense urban context. 

Note from the BSLA Design Award Jury: 

"The project delivers high impact as a cozy and intimate neighborhood backyard, and provides a thoughtful framework for future interventions in dense, urban neighborhoods. The intricate paving pattern of the "rugs" provides an additional layer of texture and richness to the experience, both from looking at it from above as well as an on-the-ground experience. Additionally, the project seamlessly integrates storm water management, soil regeneration and other ecological benefits into the project without overshadowing the design concept and user experience."
