Brie Mendozza

Senior Associate

PLA

Brie joined Crowley Cottrell in 2025. She is a landscape architect whose work is guided by a deep appreciation for craft, ecological sensitivity, and the creation of meaningful places. Her early background in graphic and motion design shaped a strong visual sensibility and attention to detail that continue to inform her landscape practice today. Drawn to the tactile and transformative nature of the land, she pursued a Master’s in Landscape Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design, where she discovered how design, ecology, and art could come together to shape the way people experience place. During her time at RISD, Brie spent several months in Italy collaborating on a landscape project for the Sol LeWitt Foundation—an experience that deepened her understanding of site, culture, and the dialogue between art and landscape.

Brie spent a decade at Reed Hilderbrand in Cambridge, where she contributed to award-winning projects. Her work reflects a belief that landscapes—like handmade objects—carry the imprint of care and intention. This same sensibility finds expression in her love of wheel-thrown pottery, where the shaping of clay mirrors the shaping of land: a balance of patience, precision, and intuition.

In addition to her MLA from RISD, Brie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado at Denver and is a CLARB-certified, registered landscape architect in Massachusetts. She draws inspiration from the Maine coastline, vegetable gardening, music, and the act of making—all practices that root her work in observation, craft, and connection.
