Michelle Crowley

Principal, PLA, ASLA

For the past 20 years, Michelle has worked on bringing accessible, enjoyable landscapes to a wide variety of people – from private residences to community-driven, land reclamation projects – all with the same smile and down-to-earth approach that reflects her love for her work, her focus on the client’s needs, and her enjoyment of working with a team. Starting as a landscape contractor in Santa Fe, NM, and continuing through receiving her degree from University of Pennsylvania (specializing in large-scale public park design), Michelle has continued to design and oversee the construction of both small and large landscapes. Her design acumen, problem-solving and team leadership skills enable her to bring together client perspectives, diverse experiences of team members, and unique challenges that each site presents, and deliver remarkable landscapes that engage each user in their own way.

Michelle grew up on the edge of The National Forest in Santa Fe, NM, spending endless imaginative hours in the foothills and arroyos or working to create waterways from the acequia to irrigate the land. When not outside, she could either be found at the theater while her mother directed critically acclaimed plays or in the garage with her father rebuilding an engine. Currently residing in Newton, Massachusetts, Michelle continues to explore the built and natural environments with her family. Through intuitive manipulation of the land, Michelle strives to blend the arts and engineering crafts of her upbringing into her design work by staging areas of play, productivity and relaxation.
