Communication is an essential skill for Landscape Architects as our success depends in large part on our ability to communicate our designs and ideas to collaborators, clients, and communities. This comprehensive landscape plan was developed for a senior living campus and illustrates the value of communication (in this case visual communication) to the practice of landscape architecture. The design highlights the natural landscape by integrating the existing creek into the program, turning a previously overlooked part of campus into a valuable amenity.
The comprehensive plan booklet takes readers through all aspects of the design from existing conditions analysis and overall project narrative to the detailed design of each section of the campus, the planting palette, and project phasing.
To ensure clear communication, each intervention is represented by both an illustrative plan located within the larger site and a 3D rendered vignette. While landscape architects and engineers might be comfortable conceptualizing a design from two-dimensional drawings, we understand the importance of presenting things in three dimensions for our clients and collaborators.
