Brookline, MA

 

Located in the prestigious Cottage Farm National Register Historic District, this grand brick Georgian Revival, dating from 1919, was in need of restoration both inside and out. The house and landscape were defined by traditional elements: formal brick terraces spilling out from living rooms, cast stone balustrades marking the edge of the gardens, and a brick entry court sized for a past era. Renovations included updating these spaces for current uses and simplifying the planting and lawns.
