The street-life on Main Street in Peabody has suffered from the success of the malls on the edge of town for decades. To create a new perspective to downtown and opportunities for public gathering, The City of Peabody commissioned the design of this ‘pop- up’ parklet. The parklet is a modular system that can be reconfigured, moved, and set up with ease. Youth- Build, a local public service and job training program for young adults, constructed the modules with recycled pallets and donated materials.
