At Crowley Cottrell, we developed a concept design, cost model, and planting plan for the redevelopment of a site in Taunton that featured a dilapidated and underused baseball field and basketball court. Our proposal replaces these elements with a series of game courts—including bocce, cornhole, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and pickleball—framed by rows of shade trees. All courts are oriented north–south to minimize glare, ensuring players are not facing directly into the sun during pickleball or other activities. The layout additionally includes a new restroom facility, benches, game tables, a pergola, and a walking circuit with exercise stations through the existing woodland. Across the street, two dog parks are designated for big and small dogs, respectively.
