Brookline Residence
Private Residence
At Crowley Cottrell, we revitalized the landscape surrounding this historic home in Brookline, carefully balancing privacy, elegance, and connection to the surrounding parkland. The project includes comprehensive upgrades to planting, grading, fencing, and masonry, all designed to complement the home’s early 20th-century architecture while enhancing the daily experience of the site. At the front, a newly designed drive court with brick detailing creates a refined entry sequence. Layered plantings soften the view from the street and screen the entry for privacy, while new fencing and grading clarify transitions between public and private space. Around each side, circulation was reworked to improve access and emphasize garden views. To the rear, a series of terraced patios offer a gracious descent through the sloped site. These spaces frame both grand and intimate moments: a restored fountain anchors a broad lawn for gatherings, while a small pergola and subtle garden gate open to nearby woodland trails.
