Beacon Hill Rooftop
Private Residence
This Beacon Hill rooftop balances a modernist sensibility with the requirements of the local Beacon Hill historic district. A restrained material palette—blackened stainless steel, ipe, concrete pavers, and planting—creates an elegant, uniform aesthetic. The patio is enclosed by a carefully engineered railing detailed without large intermediate posts, achieving a satisfyingly continuous edge. Beyond, sedum-filled roof trays extend across the surface, complemented by taller planters with trees that provide privacy for residents.
