This affordable housing development on Martha’s Vineyard has trail networks that connect with ancient island footpaths and local conservation land. The landscape goals of this sustainable development are to limit disturbance and removal of large trees, enhance native landscape character, and to provide units with private outdoor spaces and shared decks for gathering. The housing units were constructed off site, with the finishing touches added in-situ. This allowed the team to have a minimal impact on the site, while saving on construction costs.
